Next Steps

With the completion of the Master Plan, we have submitted a Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP) amendment application to the City of Edmonton. The NASP will proceed through the City of Edmonton Land Development Application Process, including City-led public engagement.

Canada Lands Company will continue to provide updates on the project. You will be invited to participate in future City-led engagement events for the NASP application.

Complete an online survey (now closed) to share your ideas and help shape the Master Plan for the Northeast Corner. The survey closes on July 29, 2022. Review the information display boards from our June 2022 public open house here.

Canada Lands appreciates the public engagement and participation during the development of the Northeast Corner Master Plan. We have gathered your input, questions and comments throughout project engagement. Community feedback has been summarized in an Engagement Summary, found here.

Extensive engagement took place from Spring 2022 through to Winter 2023.

Stakeholder, community, public and Indigenous engagement provided the opportunity for a variety of audiences to participate in meaningful discussions and share unique perspectives about the project, ultimately strengthening project decisions and supporting the development of the Northeast Corner Master Plan.

Prior to planning the events, members of the project team met with community leaders to determine engagement tactics that would motivate participation and interest in the project.

WHAT WE NEED TO DISCOVER TOGETHER

The Canada Lands Company design team needs to discover how to serve this community with the best possible decisions. The master plan for The Northeast Corner is not written yet. Before we get started on a first draft, we need to learn more about how and why this community hopes to grow in the next 50 years or so. There are many ways for community members to get involved as The Northeast Corner enters its development planning phase.
